Lonely Eyes, Acrylic

The art that I create tends to be pretty occult, so the theme of 2020 inspired me quite a bit. When I think of 2020, my first thoughts are about 20/20 vision and also the future. I’m really inspired by optical illusions and divination, so having this theme allows me to expand on what that means to me and tell stories through my work. 

 

I’m very inspired by the human form and twisting it in a way that is unnatural, but is still recognizable. This piece is inspired by a photograph by Herbert Bayer titled “Lonely Metropolitan”. I also took inspiration from pop art when it comes to the colours and shapes.
